Maternity leave in the US sucks.

Newsflash: US healthcare and everything connected to it sucks, but you people let it happen and actively vote for this.

I had 1 year of paid maternity leave and even then I was crying when I had to hand out my kid to the nanny.
I can’t even imagine having to do that with a few weeks old baby.
This is so cruel.

Vote for less conservative assholes.

It's almost as if people want to keep voting against their own interests and then bitching about how the other team keeps kicking their dog.

Anyone remember who almost passed Universal Healthcare in the 90s? Name rhymes with schmillary.

The only way this is truly going to change is if people rise up and take action enmasse, even getting into Conventions and standing up.

Edit.. the alternative is forcing governors to enact secession plans if the midterms are ... Undemocratic

In Canada we get 18 months of paid maternity leave and it can be split between the parents. We also have parental leave.

I can’t understand why the USA has such a short maternity leave and what other rights the government will keep taking away until Americans have had enough.

People in the US are constantly divided into us vs them while the rich get richer and people like this poor lady get screwed over on issues that shouldn't be issues

«Europoor» here, most of people i know staying at home until their kids are about 1,5-2 years before they started in kindergarten. In my country almost 14 months or something covered by the government, many choose to stay home longer without salary or in some cases company can cover a longer period of maternity leave.

It's not just the maternity leave that sucks.

We don’t give a fuck about human mothers needing to bond with  and take care of their babies….but we know not to separate a dog from her pups too soon.
