Probably because he tried to reinvent the wheel when it comes to delivering pizza and ended up with a whole host of issues that traditional pizza delivery doesn’t have to deal with
Honestly not a terrible idea, they could probably improve this though if they had this like really big van in some kind of central location that could make lots of pizzas and then some kind of driver (without an oven) could pick up the pizzas and deliver them.
the van wouldn't even need to move so you could save on petrol too.
Anyone who has seen the size of the the kitchen required to make a good pizza knows why this would fail.
Works great for one order at a time. You would need a fleet for a large city.

Delivered in under 10 minutes, or you get a free pizza.
You can have a pizza delivered to you in 7 minutes but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna taste good? No clue if that’s what caused it to fail tho.
Because their business model relied on the novelty of your pizza being cooked in a van and nothing else
What is the difference between a van pulling up to your house and baking a pizza on the spot in 20 minutes and someone cooking a pizza at a shop and then delivering it to you?
Not much, or at least enough to support a business model
How long did those pre-made pizzas sit in the fridge? I care more about taste and freshness than a fast day old/frozen pie.
imagine a concept like this but Ice Cream truck style banging some Classical music down the block around dinner time. a nice propane oven that can cook a Neapolitan style in like 90 seconds, thick crust less than 5mins.
Assemble, Cook all fresh and in your hands not to mention the neighbor effect getting multiple sales per stop.
You get 10 orders, all in different locations. Not enough space for more than 4 pizzas top. Get to first location, second pizza already done. Location in diff side of town. Third and 4th pizza done and slightly cold. 3rd order is still waiting more than 30 minutes. By the time you get to the 4th pizza the van starts to act funny for who knows what reason. Too many complications for one person
I have some guesses about the economics of it, but the biggest issue is probably that those pizzas look like pre-made ass
