Oh yea so you can pay those immigrants minimum wages!!
You can support immigrants and be against illegal immigration. Too many people conflate the two.
Eating ethnic cuisine should not require using underpaid illegal immigrants to wash dishes
No one loves slave labor more than the restaurant industry!! No one plays word gymnastics better!! No one hires more illegals than restaurant owners! They hate paying a fair wage!!! And they’re quick to say “no one wants to do this work” YOU DONT WANT TO PAY!!! They”re favorite phrase is “do you have friends”
He’s right tho.
Never listen to a “chef” in the industry. This dude is not the pinnacle of his industry.
Restaurants absolutely operate without employing illegal immigrants. You can have a melting pot of legal folks paying into the system.
I promise you - this idiot should not be giving advice.
All these chefs and owners are telling on themselves w these posts
I get along great and like alot of immigrants in the usa and how they change food. What does that have to do with illegal immigration?
Or if the convo is just immigrants then yeah, generally everyone is okay with some immigrants.
But like, lets say the Uk with grooming gangs from Pakistan men. I dont think " but the food is good" is worth having women gettting abused.
If these people were being honest, they would admit they "support" illegal immigrants in the food industry because they can exploit them and not give them benefits, or a fair wages.
"boiled chicken without salt"
yeah, because those pesky white cultures didn't ever do anything like define and revolutionize mother sauces or cooking methodology
the whole 'spice' argument is stupid; it's not like they could just amazon prime spices to their house. Wealthy families consumed tons of spiced foods, it was expensive. If it was able to be grown locally it would be ingrained into regional cuisine.
But I'd also expect that from a chef who doesn't know when to take his apron off and when to leave it on
