Can’t revert to old username

I’ve waited 30 days, contacted support done everything and they say I can’t use the username ive been using for like 5 years that no one else took in the meantime!! I changed my name because my friend said i should and I regretted it and now i can’t get it back.

Has this happened to anyone else? Support keeps repeating the same thing to me — use an alternate username. Why though! I know it’s available

TLDR; does anyone know how to actually get in touch with tik tok support? The support on the apps feel useless at this point…

Thinking about how maybe I need a certain amount of views more than I have now to get support to pay attention to me. I have friends that do. Should I ask them?im assuming support is tiered and im too low tiered to care. I have a decent following though just not millions.
