This was actually a pretty cool information.
I love that crap
I wonder if the Germans got the joke. You know how many Germans it takes to even screw in a light bulb?
!One. Germans are known for their efficiency and precision, not their sense of humor.!<
I didn't even know it was French. Assumed it was from Wisconsin or something.
If You cut the old design at the right line, You got a free Général De Gaulle cut-out.
It still works with the recent design, but not as impressive as before.

Bel familly is a big big name in the french cheese industry. The father Jules bel started the company, Léon bel his son made la vache qui rit...and during the 30 they invented the babybell and started its comercialization in the 50's. I am not living anymore in france but both la vache qui rit and the babybell still remain today one of the most consumed industrial cheese people eat.
What?
Then it became the insignia of U-69 during ww2.
Cheeeeeeseee
Also a reference to the 1869 Victor Hugo novel L'Homme qui rit (the man who laughs) the film of which is also considered the inspiration for Batman’s Joker
