Funky speed shifting while in-app recording?

Does anyone else have this issue with recording videos in-app? The first half-second will be x2 speed, then for about two seconds the speed will be around x.7, then it will go back to normal. If i try to cut out the part of the clip with the funky speeds, it just transfers the patten onto the new beginning of the clip. It's not a curve speed setting in the editing, because it does it automatically for every clip no matter whether i set rvery setting to default or not, and i can actually the curve to negate the funky speed issue if i'm really careful with it (but it's obnoxious so i don't want to do that every time).
