I am so dead

much can be said about the effectiveness of the system cps and the foster care are apart of, but i do like having the people in it showing both their humanity and a sense of humor. i can't imagine it's easy to cope with all that you see with the limited tools you are given. i am glad i didn't get the cps job i interviewed for years ago, i'd be both struggling more mentally with all that than my norm but also the level of frustration sometimes must be unreal. one of my parents was pretty emotionally abusive, the other absent and/or not wanting to choose a side but wanting my sister and i to walk on eggshells and not provoke her becauss "you know how your mom is", it fucking sucked feeling like nobody gave a shit how bad it all felt, but on the other hand it could be worse so really, it's fine (it wasn't). i hope people get better at speaking out about that kind of abuse, and finding ways to document it so it can be taken just as seriously as others in the systems that should protect kids.
