I was just in Spain and Portugal and didn’t run into any of this when talking with locals or European tourists. Only time politics came up they talked to me with the assumption that I also thought Trump is a lunatic, and they were correct.

I’ve been going to Japan for 2 weeks at a time every year for almost 30 years now and this is simply not true, late night at bars someone will ask if you like Trump and you say ‘no!’ And everyone laughs and high fives and then I ask if they like Takaichi (or Abe back in the day) and they say ‘no!’ And we all laugh and high five, that’s literally the closest it’s ever come to this traveling to Japan, all over the country, north, south, east and west for almost 30 years now

I visited Colombia around the time we were shooting all those boats, everyone we encountered couldn't have been more nice/polite/outgoing, people on a micro scale don't care very much where you're from.

Generally people are courteous to one another. This whole "i hate people from x because of y" is so cringe.

In real life people dont act or talk that way to one another.
