Subscription renewal?

if someone gets an email stating that their subscription to “xyz” is expiring soon and to renew the subscription, how long ago could that have been from? the email was dated 8/13/26, but the account number it’s registered to is from years ago, and when trying to get into the account it needs a confirmation text to that number to access it. i just want clarity that it’s an old thing and not a new thing
