I feel like there’s so much recycled advice about Instagram growth that it’s hard to know what actually works anymore.

I’ve tried posting more consistently, experimenting with Reels, changing hooks and spending more time engaging with accounts in the same niche. Some posts reach a ton of non-followers and others basically go nowhere, even when they’re pretty similar.

Instagram itself seems to put a lot of emphasis on reach, engagement and understanding which content gets shown to people who don’t already follow you.

For anyone who has actually grown an account from scratch, what made things finally start moving? Was it Reels, posting frequency, collaborations, better content, or something completely different?

Curious what worked from your own experience, especially if you started with basically no audience.
