Not renting to them was a wise business decision even if they weren't racist AF. Just the way she's explaining about the money, reminded me of an addict trying their best to put on an open and friendly persona, until they get what they want.

Racism is everywhere. Of course it is. But the US is the only place I ever see consistently footage like this coming out and people owning their racism with their whole chest. Elsewhere it's a little more covert. In SE Asia they're very racist but too polite to do it to someone's face or say things like this. It's become more prevalent in the UK towards immigrants but typically it's not anywhere near the problem it is in the US.

It's crazy, it's like there was a button someone pressed to make it okay and they don't quite get the magnitude of the words they're using. America is the most racist place I've ever been to. I lived in Cleveland and was told not to go to certain places because "the blacks" live around there. I admit, when we drove past a group of black people they did stare at the car but it wasn't out of malice or hate. It was almost like worry. Like "what shit are these people going to accuse us of next" kinda thing.

Fun fact, 2 of the guys on one of the training courses I ran were black and they for some reason expected me to treat them lesser than the other people. I'm from the UK so most of us are pretty open and fine with black people so I didn't treat them differently and we got on great. It was shocking to me that they'd become so used to being treated as lower class that they'd just expect it from everyone.
