Direct message restriction after reporting fraudulent account?

Hey, I recently received a DM from someone who claimed to be a music writer wanting to promote my music (in exchange for payment of course). I explored what they claimed to be their account on a legitimate music editorial, where there was a warning explaining that if someone from the editorial reaches out to you, it will be from an official account and they will not ask for payment. So I reported the account, but I guess it reported the chat? I received a temporary chat ban for “scams and frauds”. I appealed the ban but I wasn’t prompted with any place to put evidence. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it work out in your favor?
