Worst interviewer ever XD Asking two people why they don’t wanna have kids and then saying Singapore is doomed. Like no, that’s not on them. Make your government work for you. The cost of living is wayyy to high, of course they’re gonna worry about how they’ll be able to raise a kid. Most people wanna provide for their kids. Most people wanna be good parents, not just parents.

“Do you know how much you have to abuse an animal for them to not want to reproduce”

All this talk of birthrates is exhausting. I'm not an antinatalist by any means, but I have yet to see a compelling argument as to why humanity has to continually make more humans on an exponential scale.

Will it be enough with 9 billion people? 15 billion? 20?

We can't take care of many, many people that are currently alive, the planet is burning down, pullotion is going crazy, and capitalism is destroying what's left.

Lower populations means lower resource needs, plus bodily autonomy for women is a thing. They are the ones who have to go through pregnancy and childbirth and if they choose not to do that? So be it.

The human species isn't going to go extinct because of population fall-off, its going to die out because we already have to many people as it is.

Let people choose to live how they want and stop harping on this birthrate shit ffs.

I had one kid and was done. Ya it was crazy pain. But kids are expensive and THE WORLD DOESNT NEED MORE PEOPLE!!

The human population has more than doubled since I was born and we have driven thousands of species to extinction as we keep growing.

Thank you ladies for deciding not to have kids. It’s always possible they will change their mind but it’s okay not to have kids.

It’s not the affordability piece, at least that’s not what the data would suggest. A lot of factors confounding at once - women have more autonomy and oppurtunities for things that are not child rearing and the opportunity cost of leisure time and personal fulfilment are my two picks. “Affordability” is a factor in so far as people don’t feel like they can or should sacrifice their current standard of living to bring a kid, but that’s not the same as “not being able to afford one”
