Good men hurt women

Great message, and I love seeing a man saying it.

People are going to insist he's only saying this to virtue signal or get attention from women, but we need more men to signal these virtues and y'all are telling on yourselves when you imply the only reason to be ethical is to get attention from women.

That's not a good man then.

At least one guy gets it.

The "but he's a good guy" argument is also the reason so many victims aren't believed because if someone knows the perpetrator and like then they think that means they cannot be guilty of it and that implies of course calling the victim a liar or a manipulative person. 

Back in 2015 when I studied cultural studies and tried to explain this concept of "rape culture" - aka a societal constructions that enables "good" men to partake in sexual violence (to a degree) without being morally chastised for it, aka the normalization of sexual violence - you cannot imagine the backlash I got for even suggesting sth like this. Even in moderately progressive spaces.

Now curly-edgared, moustache rocking, GenZ hipsters explain it on tiktok; and while I'm not sure if they'll catch more hate for it than me, or less, it makes me feel very seen. You go on, you carry the torch now. I'll be resting by this tree.

Nope. Good men do not hurt women and would not do something that a woman doesn't want them to do. If a man does that, he is not a good man. End of discussion.

I’m a Title IX investigator and this is spot on. I wouldn’t say most of our respondents are bad people, but they are highly ignorant of their actions, need education, and have caused real harm as a result.

Yeah no shit Sherlock, but news flash, those ARE NOT GOOD MEN. No really I want to understand, in 2026 there's really someone who thinks that having sex with your girlfriend/wife if she doesn't want to and things like that are ok?
