i’ll keep this in mind when i bring infinite money to a bar and im approached by the devil, good to know!
This makes no sense.
It becomes a paradox. If the devil buys your last dollar for 2 dollars, you will always have 2 dollars. Otherwise, how is the devil able to obtain all the dollars, if your last dollar he has to also pay you two dollars?
But he just said you have an infinite amount of dollar bills? You won’t ever reach the end. Also, aren’t you going to spend some of that money at some point?
This is dumb.
I have all the money the devil gave me.
Just a quick clarification on "supertasks". As it was somewhat offhandedly mentioned by him without explaining what it is.
A supertask is basically a task of infinite actions. Yet one with a defined end. For example, if you want to get from point A to point B, you first have to get to the halfway point between A and B. Now when you reach that halfway point rename it point A and you are in the same situation as before. There is always a halfway point you have to reach first before you can go to B. An infinite amount of them. This creates the paradox that you can never reach point B. Of course that is a bit silly, as anyone who has ever moved knows you can get from A to B. It just requires you to do all infinity of steps in a finite time. A supertask.
So the task in this video assumes that basically all infinite trading will be done in a finite time.
Well yeah if it's infinite that's the point...there will be no "end" to the trade...
Dumb. Only makes sense if not infinite. In his scenario you never run out and trade endlessly. If a finite series the devil runs out of money to take your remainder.
I took this off mute and was floored this dude wasn’t English
What a dumb premise and concept. It illustrates nothing. Not even a fun imaginary mathematical situation.
