ABC News has released audio from a phone call between Jane Doe and one of the “Cornell 7”

I hate that idiots are using this to try and say she is lying, when this is an OBVIOUS attempt at damage control and manipulation by this dude that was supposed to be her friend. Just the worst scum of the earth.

Agreement to one act isn't a blanket permission for all acts. This was so vile.

According to Good Morning America, Jane Doe says that she is “100% sure” that she told this man that she had been drinking at a previous event before arriving at the frat house.

And, when Jane Doe asked how so many people ended up in the room, he said “The party was sort of like, crowded, so people started, like um, filling up the balcony just because there was nowhere else to go.” He was acting like he hadn’t sent the Snapchat message to other members of his frat inviting them to come and engage in sexual activities with Jane Doe.

Furthermore, during Cornell’s internal investigation of this incident, this man said that he was too intoxicated to consent and suggested that he was assaulted by Jane Doe.

The most shocking part for me in all of this is that the men all sound like idiots?

Like, I expected Cornell to be a super smart nerd school full of nerds. But phew, these dudes sound STUPID.

Consenting to a threesome doesn’t change the fact that she was later drugged and gang raped and posted as “free pussy”.

What stood out to me is him saying "you said you were sober". My guy... I have been denied entry to multiple clubs on different bar crawls even though I told the bouncer that I was sober. You can easily tell when someone is not sober, regardless of what they say. 

So many people speak with such confidence about an event they weren’t at it makes me wonder how much these boys are paying for PR.

Im tired of seeing people weaponising the text against her where shes still super confused about what happened and clearly trying to make sense of it, like you can see the cogs turning and her trying to reason it out and figure out what happened and make sense of it. She knew she'd gone in there willingly but knew she hadn't consented to everything that happened after that but you can tell her brain is just fried and shes scared so she tries to reason it out. Its only after she really starts to remember you can see she realises how fucked up it was.

I dunno, maybe women see those texts differenctly because most of us know someone who has or have themselves been in that position of denial. Maybe its because I know more than one person who's been raped, male and female, and they all did the same dance of denial and trying to make sense of it before coming to terms with the fact they're victim. Fuck I know someone who was abused as a child and she still to this day claims he loved her.

Victims of sexual abuse dont want to be victims of sexual abuse, as women we're conditioned to fear it more than anything at the same time comvinced to believe its something we asked for just by wearing the wrong thing or being drunk in the wrong place.

I choose to believe the account of a woman who had time to come to terms with the events, who sobered up and put aside her shame long enough to see that just because she said yes to a threesome, doesnt mean yes to a revolving door of strange men she doesnt know. I don't choose to hold a leading conversation against her where the man is clearly trying to get her to phrase things to absolve him, where you can see she is still piecing things together and not upset him so she can figure it out.

If that makes me naive to some men following this, or they think I'm unrealistic, all I can say is I'm unfortunate enough to have seen too many people I care about, myself included, go through this exact denial to ever dump on her for it.

I'm not a man but this is the 2nd incident that has been in the media of a group of friends "running a train" on a girl without consent. Like, gentlemen, since when is it "sexy fun or cool" to watch your friends violate someone and then proceed to do the same immediately after? How is this a thing that people are just doing?

The ketamine and alcohol at some point left her Incapacitated which means she CANNOT consent.
