So exactly spot on and a creative way to illustrate a phenomenon as old as time. 🤣
Part of what makes the video so clever and funny is that it illustrates something difficult to articulate, but I’ll try.
First off, I dont think it’s really just men - but I can see why that’s part of the cheek here.
It’s the little involuntary actions we (in the man’s place here) do to broadcast that we’re doing what we’re supposed to when we’re supposed to, without necessarily actually doing the thing. He sees she’s moving around the apartment, tidying up, maybe complaining about how messy things are, and every time she glances we can see him standing up, controller in hand, signaling that he’s turning it off, going to start helping, be there in a sec, but never actually arrives at the next state, which is actually helping with the chores.
Another way to make the vid might be in an office, with someone bustling around doing work, and every time they glance up their co-worker is turning their phone over and starting to look intently at their work emails. Same kind of idea.
Performative “Ah, see I know I’m supposed to be helping, here I come, be right there”. Looks away. Looks back. “Here I come, be right there.” Looks away. Looks back. “Here I come, be right there.” On and on and on.
The man is working out , leave him.alone
If my sink was that small I'd be upset too.
This isn’t cute or quirky for you men out there btw. You wouldn’t have to get up so much if you just picked up after yourself.
Surprise, it’s easier to clean up when you clean up after yourself.
Yes this goes for women too.
I do not speak the language but I know everything that was said there.
Dudes who do this will die alone in a retirement home with no one who visits them.
edit: I have angered the men who use weaponized incompetence.
This obvious lighthearted humor is triggering the fuck out of some people.
What s funny to me is that all these undone tasks that make women furious are easy, and quick to do. Dishes, 5 minutes, laundry 5 minutes, cleaning up the place 5 minutes. That's literally all it takes to make women happy. I swear the bar in on the floor.
Its a fuckin skit, yy'all. Good god
