Offscreen, their relationship was quite different. I saw an Avatar panel at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo a few years back, and Dante Basco talked a bit about Robin Williams and how supportive he was. I can't remember all the details, but Dante started or was a part of an Asian American actors group. At some point, he gave Robin a hat with the group's logo. After Robin died, his daughter Zelda told Dante that she found the hat amongst his things. He had kept it all those years. Both Dante and Robin are real gems.

There was a brief period when Rufio was Batman-level popular, but didn’t have the merch and content to match. We all wanted to be Rufio on the playground. If they had followed up with a Rufio animated series it would have been huge.

When you a Rufio you just end up numb and extremely resilient but thank you

Rufio was not a Pan era “lost boy”. He is what came in the absence of Pan. Basically he is new and shiny, everyone likes it but just doesn’t fill the void of the original.
Excellent read, but I similarly saw Rufio as the eldest child that had to take care of the sibs do to absent parents. Then all of a sudden the parent returns and your role is taken. Basically Rufio is one version of what Peter’s son could become.

I was the oldest. I had to raise my siblings. Why does it feel like I didn't do enough?
