How is TikTok different now than before the ban?

I keep hearing that TikTok is different now than it was before the ban and I'm curious. I wasn't on TikTok for very long before the ban so I never got a true feel for how it was before.

Like someone else said, censorship even in my personal chats i’m getting censored. My algorithm is full of anti-Trump but it’s still all about him. A lot of conspiracy videos too.

I personally haven’t noticed a difference. I’m still able to search for things that people are claiming are banned

the thing i have noticed is more people complaining about how different it is lol

It’s not different for me. I’m not getting much political stuff. If anything I’m getting videos from liberal perspectives. My feed is the same as before.

Censorship. We cannot search certain things and now there are a lot of people getting banned for taking about this kind of stuff. The algorithm has also changed. It has started to push right wing videos and Christian videos. It’s not the same app it was a week ago at least for Americans it’s not.

I haven’t noticed a major difference. For the first day or two every TikTok was related to the ban but now it’s back to normal for me.

I don’t notice any differences personally. My algorithm is the same as it was before. I’ve always gotten right wing videos here and there, but it wasn’t a ton. Same goes after the ban. I scroll on past it just like I didn’t before.

So prior to the ban TikTok was going strong still. But after the app came back online it seems like way more people are getting banned and facing consequences for not even mentioning anything hateful or anything of that sort. If they were going to be way more strict than before they should of just kept it banned. I know some will disagree but many will agree on this statement. Felt a bit more as anything goes prior to the ban where as now it's more strict or censored if you will. I've seen posts and what not of people saying something, that wasn't hate or anything of that sort and getting banned.

for me it’s pretty much the same as it’s always been.

but i should mention i lean right so the right wing posts don’t bother me, but they’re less then before, so my complaint is if getting so mch left wing stuff when i never interact with it and try not to engage

otherwise i dont follow much politics or anything, i just watch videos and engage in battles and gifts. most of my time spent is watching lives so im an outlier i’d believe

I’m on and have been creating content for years now. My algorithm still reflects the same content that I interact with.

Also to note I spoke out on some of the situation with DJT and my video is shown more (75% of traffic coming from the FYP) on the FYP than the average (45%) in the last 60 days.

I believe that the algorithm is working but people are watching differently and not understanding how the algorithm works.

I also just watched a live of a raid. I’ve seen live protests.

What’s more rampant is creators taking advantage of this fear and creating content that is purposefully crafted to garner engagement and views.

TikTok was always feisty with comments and videos - the difference is that more people than ever are posting about this and commenting more.

Also important to note that I do not trust TikTok or any CEO. This is coming fully from experience and metrics.
