I’m in the process of exploring triller

I don't believe the wacky conspiracy theories about a different TikTok, but I also don't expect it to be available three months from now

I've created accounts on Likee and Triller and YouTube shorts. My TikToks are also uploaded to those three

Of the three competitors, only YouTube shorts is decent as a viewer, in terms of putting the content I want on the for you page. As a creator, YouTube and Likee are okay for engagement, while Triller has been giving me less than 20 views per video. All three are inferior to TikTok both as a viewer and creator

I've also been posting to relevant subreddits, but reddit is obviously a fundamentally different platform than TikTok. I also occasionally post my videos to Facebook for my friends, but again, fundamentally different than TikTok

Probably just be on YouTube more.

I mean, whatever TikTok is already functionally dead, most of the functionality, communication and algorithm people went there for is now obviously highly censored by the same forces that are censoring other social media apps.

We don't know where we'll go because we don't necessarily know what is next or where the content will be next. There is now a large opening for a freeform platform, but that will probably be targeted by the government as well.

Wherever will be open for people to broadcast crimes against humanity will be the places that those perpetrating those crimes will seek to censor.

I feel like I’m in the minority but TikTok doesn’t feel different at all right now after the short ban last week. My algorithm is basically the same as it was before.

If TikTok changes or goes dark… I dunno. I’ll probably try to fill the time with reels or shorts but I don’t like either of those. The algorithms don’t feel as in tune as TikTok. So I’ll probably eventually stop trying to fill the hole and cut way down on my scrolling.

I'm just youtube shorts atm. and I'll check out Neptune when it comes out.
