You get the content you engage with. If others are commenting on pro-Mango Mussolini posts, even to say things like 'F that guy!' it's engagement. So that's what is going to get into their algorithm. If you're just scrolling past and ignoring them, you won't get them, or very rarely.

What I’ve noticed is I do get a lot of the same type of content but it’s lower quality? Like leftist takes but not well thought out and they have no views or engagement. It’s weird
I get the same thing. Some of the bashing videos are funny as hell
Meanwhile I’m trying to get political videos off my FYP and it’s impossible. Every single time I get a video of someone bashing Trump or praising Trump, I hit “not interested” but I still get one or the other every 5 or so videos. One time I got 6 videos about Trump in a row and I hit “not interested” on all of them. I’m convinced it does nothing.
You’re not the only one, I am just not posting that I am getting anti-Trump posts as often as the people complaining they’re getting Trump posts.
