Rednote screens protests, it isn’t the free speech app the ex tiktokers assume it is

Turns out that the chinese app DOES screen comments and posts. The facepalm is to myself for not realizing it would.

Posted a video about how my comment got deleted and a video about the protest disappeared. It got no views or likes.

Shortly after I posted a video of my cat. Instantly met with comments and likes.

Wait, you thought a Chinese app would allow free speech? In China, you aren't allowed to talk negatively about pretty much ANYTHING especially politics which would include inciting or agreeing with any sort of protest.

Literally no one assumed it was.

It’s Chinese app owned by them. They can do whatever the fuck they want. Complain to apple for even allowing it on the AppStore.

OP realizes that free speech is a luxury not available in most countries around the world 😂😂

American companies not looking too bad now huh 😂😂😂

I saw it mentioned several times in the welcome type videos people were making. It’s more a lifestyle app that tolerates politics as long as the content is pretty tame. Protest content would be way too much
