How does monetization work?

I’ve had TikTok for over 2 years now and I’ve had a video hit a million views recently and a few others that are in the 100k-600k range.

I once tried looking in the settings but all I saw was that I needed at least 10k followers before I could get paid anything.

I don’t know if they changed that or if I was just stupid and looking in the wrong places.

If I could get money from posting stupid ass videos I would totally love that (my tiktok got offloaded by my phone so I can’t even access it anymore 😞)

Girl the way things are going, half the people aren't even on there anymore, the ones that are left are either tablet people who accidentaly deleted it off their phone, and a few others. Plus they're starting to put ads in the middle of tiktok videos like YouTube. It's turning into another YouTube/Facebook.

For me it's a hell no. I rather work a normal job.

I am about to hit 2,000 followers, at 300 I unlocked live feature and have made a small amount of money on live. I think due to my content i’d make more if I did something different but whatever. At 1,000 I unlocked the ability to make money off of my videos based on certain sounds that artists are willing to pay creators for using and gaining traction on. some of those sounds pay up to 800-1200 dollars. it’s at the very least worth doing in my opinion in that the app does not get banned or is put back in the app store at some point. :) at 10,000 is when you can get paid regardless of sounds that you use I believe. it’s tricky to navigate but there are videos and lots of info when those features are unlocked. :)
