Users with 100k plus followers yet only 5k likes, how is this possible?

Been looking to grow my channel, so need more followers, Seeking inspiration from other channels I see quite a lot of people with a huge number of followers yet only a handful of likes. For example today one person at 170,000 followers, but only 5,000 likes on there profile. How is this possible?

I have more likes than that but only a very very small fraction of the followers.

Is there something I'm missing out on?
