Verification codes

I requested a verification code on TikTok to update my contact information and received the code through WhatsApp. However, the message came from a third party rather than an official TikTok number. The code still worked, and I was able to verify my account, but I found the situation strange and a bit concerning. I've since deactivated my account, but it still feels a bit odd. Has this happened to anyone else?
