The notion of free speech on TikTok has long been a fragile and contentious issue, a reality that has existed well before any recent bans, for many users, there has been a persistent belief that they could openly share their thoughts and opinions on this ever-popular platform.

Yet, this optimistic perception has been increasingly overshadowed by the subtle and often insidious techniques used by the platform’s administrators to suppress dissenting voices, what users are experiencing today is merely a continuation of an ongoing trend that has persisted for years.

Numerous individuals have encountered the abrupt termination of their accounts simply for expressing viewpoints that diverge from the accepted norms, these incidents should not be dismissed as isolated occurrences, but rather, they are part of a larger pattern that reflects a troubling reality.

Many users have reported facing bans that arise from vague and ambiguously defined policies outlined in the platform's terms of service, this situation underscores a significant concern regarding the management of free expression in the digital landscape, revealing a systemic issue that threatens the integrity of open dialogue online.

So many cultures have braids, including white folks. Including vikings, native Americans, etc. Braids dont BELONG to just one culture. It's hair.

I’ve been noticing that there are many soft people everywhere. No free speech here, feelings are more important.

If you’re from the USA (and plenty of other countries) free speech was all a facade and never really a thing.

  1. It’s a Chinese app
  2. Even for US based apps/social media you don’t have free speech. It’s in the terms and conditions of any and every platform you sign up for. They can and will remove any content THEY feel goes against their terms whether you agree with it or not.

Free speech is a USA thing that protects you from OUR GOVERNMENT trying to control what you say. You do not have free speech on the worldwide internet.

Free speech, (or protection thereof) has always been against the government. The Constitution lists an array of negative edicts that control the powers of government. i.e.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"

Therefore, Tiktok, a (foreign) private entity, has no bearing on any constitutionally protected right. They couldn't care any less; just simply don't purchase (participate in) their product.
