Travel Compilation Videos

Question for creators who make those beautiful travel video edits with short footage of different scenery / food… do you just take tons of really short videos and piece them together? Do you take longer videos and pull out the best seconds? How do you cut them altogether, within the TikTok app or an outside app? Advice appreciated!
