Can I swap usernames for accounts?

So I have two TikTok accounts, and I want to swap the usernames of my least popular account with my most popular account. If I remove the username I want to use on my other account will it immediately be able ready to be set where I want it?

Oh no, I changed my username hoping that would make it available on my other account but it’s still unavailable. I don’t understand why it’s still unavailable though no one has my username at the moment.
