I'm usually on the queer, alt, silly side of tiktok. Genshin, hsr, cookie run kingdom, that type of stuff.
But suddenly my fyp has started adding things like religion, foreign languages I don't speak, football (soccer for Americans) and other sports, skincare, business advice and tips, and just random dances I've never interacted with these things, so I don't understand why they're suddenly on my fyp
Mine’s been very weird too. I keep getting tiktok shop ads for lingerie, strange suggestive lives, religious lives and videos - I’ve never interacted with any of this content before. I’m usually on the neurodivergent gaming nerd side of tiktok.
I'm also noticing some of the content that was my norm, is not appearing at all. Actually my fyp feels like I'm being put into a box that I did not subscribe to...based on presumed demographics rather than interests.
My "Following" seems modified also. I can go to people's pages to see that new content has been put up, but it's just not appearing, especially the foreign creators that I purposely followed for diversity and outside perspectives.
