How to disable notifications in the "Friends" tab?

I get push notifications from when people I follow post stories or whatever they post. I have "Get post notifications from people you follow" turned off in my settings and when I go to their individual profile to turn off their post notifications, it redirects me to that page which I have everyone's already turned off.
