I can understand it on tiktok because tiktok censors the fuck out of content there. Like having to use PDFile or Grape. YouTube too since I know they demonetize videos for that shit. On reddit it's less understandable but that's just kinda how language works. It's easier to use a universal language instead of remembering the distinct rules of each individual social media platform.

I find it more cringe when people can't see this and think so simplistically. Not everything revolves around you and what you want ya know? People are just trying to deal with the hand they've been dealt while not silencing the entire discussion.

It is annoying but it's to avoid the massive censorship. I do find it troublesome when it bleeds over onto other platforms or into real life though. A distinction should definitely be made there.
