can't see lives

i got tiktok last night and made a new account. for some reason i cannot see lives, there is no tab for it and i cannot get them scrolling on my for you page. i have tried asking chatgpt and looking it up but no luck, i have tried logging out and logging back in, restarting the app, clearing cache and checking for updates. anyone know why?
