I am tired of working as a TikTok Live Host

I have been working for over 6 months as a TikTok live host now... At first, I had to go to a studio in Manhattan to do the lives, but now I do them from home. I have pushed myself daily to keep this job even though I was tired of it from the 3rd week. I tried quitting, but that's when they offered me to do it from home and I agreed. It did not make it any easier. I feel trapped in a never-ending loop where I am forced to say the same thing over and over and over again.... BUY NOW! only today! The flash sale is ending! This is the most viral set. Blah blah blah... But I haven't quit because the thought makes me feel guilty... I feel as if I'm being ungrateful for having the opportunity to make a buck from home, and the job is "too easy," but lives are 3 to 5 hours long, and my voice feels so tired... I don't know if this is normal... if I am wrong to feel this way.

Do you make good money doing this? Probably not I’m guessing. Get out and do something else!

It’s funny how it’s all Chinese agencies that try to get me to go live and don’t know how to communicate with me. In China they must be able to force creators to do whatever. I’m beginning to think that TikTok intentionally helps you sell at the beginning through the algorithm so you are “addicted” and keep chasing that earning amount by “doing more, more, more….”

Hun I don't think you're ungrateful at all. I've seen how hard your guys work and it seems difficult. As a person who used to work in a call center - it gives very sales/customer service vibes and it's draining. Talking all day, especially about the same product, would drive anyone up the wall.

Is it possible for you to do a live but cut back your engagement? I've seen some sellers put the items on a stand/shelf and play a movie on the TV in the background. Sometimes they'd ask in the chat what people want to watch and put it on. Some people will stay just to watch the show?

I've seen other sellers cook or clean while on live. They'll chat every so often with the customers but accomplish other things?

I hope you're able to take a step back 🥺
