Agencies? Are they necessary?

As someone who is doing TT lives for fun as a way to meet new people and chill, I'm wondering are agencies necessary? I'd like to make money, but I'm not trying to. I'm okay if it happens, and okay if it doesn't. I've joined an agency because I heard so many good things, but I'm wondering if it's needed? I don't have time to be on live everyday begging people to engage. What is the purpose of these agencies for smaller creators like me who only get a couple hundred likes per live? Any advice is appreciated.
