Because its just political theater. They pretend to care about national security threats while also letting pete hegseth be in the government (ya know, a guy that has leaked government secrets multiple times in a groupchat that a journalist ended up getting added to) its just bullshit. They don’t actually care its just to get people on their side. Plus if they cared they would create legislation that protects peoples private info. 

Same reason they claim to be Christians but act the complete opposite.
