Receiving message requests even after setting chats to “no one”

I’m so confused right now, I set my messages to no one on TikTok about two months ago as I don’t want anyone thinking they’re able to contact me/even thinking they have a chance of me seeing a message from them. I wanted a message to pop up whenever they tried saying they can’t, or to just have that option not even show up on my account. But now just a day ago I see this, saying “you have message requests”. why is this happening??:
