Why do TikTokers always pretend to be busy while talking?

I’ve noticed a lot of TikTokers now talk while doing something random like eating, doing skincare, or cleaning. It’s like they need to look busy to avoid feeling awkward on camera.

Honestly, when it doesn’t feel genuine, I usually just skip it. I get that it makes them feel more “natural,” but sometimes it comes off as performative.
