Career Ladder on TikTok is actually doing something valuable

I recently found out about the TikTok channel "Career Ladder" and loved it. I’m not sure what the creator originally intended it to be or why he started it, but honestly, I think it’s doing something really valuable. It introduces job roles and career paths that most of us never hear about—especially when we're young and trying to figure out what we want to do.

When I was in school, the idea of a “career” was usually limited to a handful of common paths—doctor, engineer, lawyer, maybe something in tech. But this channel highlights jobs that are real, viable options, yet somehow don’t get talked about. I’ve personally come across job titles through these short videos that I had literally never heard of before.

It’s just cool to know that such a wide variety of roles exist, and that you can actually find something you like and turn it into a job—no matter how random or niche it might seem at first.

I absolutely despise seeing it pop up. I love the concept, don't get me wrong. Guy promises to guess someone's job based off the description. Love it. But the thing is, he so rarely gets it right, and also he creates this idea of "if I don't guess it, you never tell me" but then encourages them to tell the camera. I 100% agree the audience should know, because that's why we are watching, to be entertained. But why on Earth are you creating the idea that you shouldn't ever be told in the first place, creating the problem that the audience doesn't get the satisfaction of learning after spending the time watching, to then solve that problem by them telling the camera? The "don't tell me but tell the camera" is a bad shtick and needs changed. I think it's a brilliant idea with absolutely terrible execution, and would love to see someone else pick it up and iterate on it to make it better

I haven’t seen him but I like the degreefree people who talk about different careers and how to get started in them.
