I am convinced that tiktok was dragged into team trump, told they were about to be forcible sold to Thiel or shutdown, or both, unless they could make the place comfortable for right wing influencers. Of course tiktok cannot invent videos, but what they could do is

a) stop moderating and responding to flags on right wing extremist content

b) start moderating comments critical of extremist right wing comments under the guise of “no bullying”

c) cease ranking comments by likes, and instead ensure the top comment (often with no likes) is the most disliked comment. “for balance”.

d) allow bots to ran rampant instead of blocking their activity.

and this is the platform we see now. Even creators with big followings have been warned they can no longer call out comments as being stupid, racist and so on. Or they will get their accounts banned. Because they called user7154892645 with no videos and no followers a fucking nazi.

The whole point of TikTok is to post extreme shit and divide the population. We allow it. Reddit has some pretty extreme takes as well. I was banned from a group because I said I didn’t agree with Luigi and the people who have made him a hero.

I reported a comment for hate speech that said "Hard R Heil H-ler" except it was all actually typed out, not abbreviated like I just did, and Tiktok said no violations found. Meanwhile, just commenting "🤢" will be permanently removed and unable to be restored. What other app flags built in emojis??? I swear the moderation used to at least be decent before POTUS took control of American TT and filled it with propaganda and hate speech.

You all accused the right of consuming Russian garbage and then fought to keep your blatant China propaganda app. I've criticized tiktok from the very beginning, but people *defended* it.
