I've looked it up in Google but I guess the information is outdated or something. I asked another TikToker and they said hold the screen and there should be an option but this is all I get when I hold the screen. Thank you.

Turning off TikTok livestream chat is like finding the off switch on a blender mid-spin: tricky, but possible. Tap and hold on any chat message, then select “Clear display” or “Disable comments.” It hides the chat overlay until you exit and return. Just don’t scroll too far: you’ll end up in TarotTok wondering where it all went wrong.
if you hold down it should say clear display which clears the chat
