Is TikTok no longer giving new accounts that "300-view push"?

Hey everyone,
I recently created a new TikTok account and posted a video, hoping to get that initial exposure everyone talks about you know, the supposed 300 views TikTok gives new videos to test engagement. It's been over 30 hours and... still 0 views.

While looking into it, I noticed there's a "Promote" option that lets you pay to boost your video. Is this what TikTok is pushing now pay-to-play from the start?

Has anyone else noticed this shift? Is this how it’s always been, or is TikTok getting stingy with organic reach?
