Is this a scam?

(I'm a guy) some random girl added me on tiktok and messaged me. She was talking like i'd expect someone to talk around my age and wasn't being weird or anything. Said i was in her recommended and she wanted to get to know me. Didn't seem like a generic scam bot sort of message at all.

She asked my age, told me hers, told me where she lives, and then asked for my imsg.

Here's where things get kind of weird:

  • phone number area code doesn't line up with where she said she lives (but it is the same region)

  • she wants me to send a picture of myself, but my tiktok already has my face is every tiktok

She sent pictures of herself and they are all definitely the same person between those 2 pictures and her actual tiktok. The other weird thing is she only follows guys who seem to be my age. Like plenty of them.

The thing confusing me the most is that "she" is talking in a way that 100% sounds like a real girl that is my age. I just want to know if this is some kind of scam.

(Note: she never asked me that typical art project line about needing an image of me, this is a very unique situation for me)

$20 says she's a guy posing as a girl and probably lives in Africa.

Focus on their actions, not just their words. A woman who initiates contact with strange men online and sends unsolicited pics?
