"Disabled people shouldn't exist because they are suffering"

You were born less blessed than other people so that means you are a worse human and shouldn't reproduce

That isn't what he said at all.

It's selfish for ANYONE to bring a child into our world in its current state, knowing that statistically their going to live a shitty life.

To willingly bring a life into this world while also knowing they will 100% suffer from disabilities that would make their life guaranteed misery is cruel as shit.

I would never want a child to go through the same shit I have. Why would I ever risk forcing another person to suffer if I could help it?

Whoever is responsible for taking care of them to begin with should be investigated at the very least. You can’t control what people do, that’s life. It’s unfortunate that a child now has to live with being 100% disabled.

As a disabled person, I can verify that I am not living a life of abject misery and suffering, and suggesting disabled people (as a whole? With the myriad disabilities there are?) are selfish for having children is kind of ghoulish.

That’s just eugenics. You guys are talking about eugenics, I’m sorry.

This guy is talking about 2 people with osteogenesis imperfecta. Even a cursory Google search shows that this specific condition can range from mild to severe and that many adults can achieve a degree of autonomy despite the disability. So, let's be for real, like he said.

This thread already looks like it will be a cesspool. So I'm just going to stop there. Y'all are terrible people and I want you to ask yourself something: would you willingly show whatever you're about to comment to your partner, parent, or friends? Would you proudly wear your comment on a shirt or put it on a sign for the world to know what you believe? Or are you simply hiding behind anonymity to be an asshole and feel slightly better about yourself?

I feel like as a parent, or someone who wanted to be a parent at some point, this is a normal thing that you have to consider when evaluating your means to have a child.

I have a congenital eye deformity. My doctors don’t know if it’s genetic or not. It can be or sometimes not be. It’s rare so it’s unknown. And I’m not taking the chance on having a kid being born with it as well. Because I know how shitty it is to live with. There’s no cure for mine. It’s physically debilitating and caused me to be bullied throughout my whole childhood. I have a long line of mental health issues in the family. I have one myself. I wouldn’t be able to care for my child because of it and I’d hate for them to have a mental illness I could have prevented by simply not having children. It’s not that they don’t deserve to live it’s that they don’t deserve to suffer.

His point is good?

If you know your child will inherently suffer then don’t make them out of your selfish desires? Impoverished people too
