Like and unlike removes notification?

So I keep getting really old videos on my fyp, not realizing they are old and therefore liking them. Recently I got an old video that my friend posted like a little over a year ago. I liked and then IMMEDIATELY unliked it because I noticed when the video was from. I have not gotten a good answer anywhere else so I am asking here, do they still get the notification? I hate that I get old videos on my fyp, it makes me look creepy
