Has anyone noticed that the temperature of the comments have shifted on videos? Not even political ones either, just a lot of non controversial videos in general.

The weird thing it’s always the top one, and maybe the second one as well. It’s not the one with the most likes either, the general theme seems to be a comment with a lot of responses.

It was bad in 2024 and it seems to be even worse in 2025. It’s almost comical how often I’m seeing people get stuck debating someone’s who’s obviously ragebaiting for example. Besides that you get censored when you post any naughty words but you can be legit horrible on this app with almost no consequences and have it be the first comment on a viral video.

Why shouldn’t the most liked comments be the first one you view instead of the most controversial? The annoying thing isn’t even the comments though it’s the constant instant censoring without any thought about it. Then you have to fill out a form or something to explain the context of a comment you’re making.

Not saying that TikTok is unique on this either but it’s getting surreal..
