Why aren't my comments showing?

When I leave a comment on TikTok (on desktop), I can see it just fine when I'm logged into my account. But when I log out and view the same video, my comment doesn’t appear at all... it’s like it’s hidden or private? is it because i'm on desktop, or because my account is too new? do i have to download the app?
