TikTok Showed Me the Same VIRAL Video Twice — But the Likes, Shares, and Comments Were All Different
I was scrolling through TikTok and noticed something strange — the same exact viral video appeared in my feed twice within a scroll.
It wasn’t a repost or dupe. It was the exact same video, with the same comment thread and creator. But here’s where it gets weird — the engagement numbers were completely different.
One version had significantly more likes, shares, and comments than the other. Same content, same timestamp, same commenters — but the metrics didn’t match.
I recorded my screen to document it and posted it. Then TikTok took my video down and flagged it for “synthetic and manipulated media.” They claimed I altered the footage, which I didn’t. It was a raw screen recording with no edits — I even checked the metadata to confirm that.
