F65 here. Is there anyone I can ask a question to about TikTok? I just got on there 2 weeks ago for a reason I don’t want to disclose. I’m sorry I don’t know where else to post this.

My account is private on that app. I’ve been hit up by men. One, I was just talking to for a while thought it was he was pretty ok. I was clear that I wasn’t looking for anything else. VERY CLEAR. Gives me his phone number several times. Wanted me to be on the WhatsApp, signal, telegram.

I wouldn’t budge one bit. I’ve been scammed before. I don’t jump. It takes me a while to get to know somebody anyway all of a sudden I had a FT missed call from this guy.

I don’t know how he got my phone number because I have my security settings all set & private. And I do not have my phone number in my settings.

I know he’s has to be a scammer and maybe he saw that I liked a couple videos or something from a couple family members. Other than that, my account is locked. I think possibly he did some sort of search on me through a couple of my family members and I don’t have my last name out there anything . I don’t post anything. I just repost what I like. I don’t even respond to a couple family members. I just like what they post.

Had this happened to anybody else? I never wanted to get on TikTok, but for reasons I dd.

I looked up this person‘s phone number and so forth it doesn’t match but now he seemed to have possibly grabbed on to my info when I do not give it out & as said my number etc… is not even in my account privacy.

Just being cautious , I always am yes, he is blocked. The couple family members I know on there have there last name. They do not have their phone number etc…. How can somebody do this? Seriously, I have not publicly posted on a couple family members repost any of it. And I have all my settings to Private. I appreciate any and all replies. Thank you.

I understand it’s the Internet. The only thing I can think of is just when I liked a family members post, somehow this person did a search without my phone number. I’ve been through much on here too and it’s hard to get to know me & for me to trust. It just seems like you can’t make friends anywhere. And you just have a small conversation and then all of a sudden I’m getting missed FT calls from this person who gave me their number, but I honestly never gave them mine. My last name isn’t even out there on any app. Thanks again, a bit unnerved by this all tbh.

Yes, I do have security alerts set on private info.

99% of the people who message you on TikTok are scammers. Ignore them. Do not talk to them. Just delete their messages when they come to your inbox.

Did you use the same profile picture on TikTok that you use in any other social media, like Facebook for example? If you did, it would be very easy for him to find you by matching your photos, get your first and last name, and then track down your number online because even if you keep your information “private,” someone else always already has your info and will sell it to whoever wants to pay the price to get it.

Whatsapp requires sharing of numbers, Facebook facetime just means he's stalked you enough to find your Facebook profile, Definitely a creep if he tries to call you.

Depending which country you live, when people search online for your name, usernames or email it will show phone numbers, addresses, photos.

There’s a website called True People Search. Go there and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on don’t sell or share your information then scroll down to number 2 and click on the opt out form and fill it out. It’s scary the amount of info they freely have on there. Address, phone numbers, possible relatives, Google map of your address, emails etc. That’s how I get all my information on people.
