Older phones

Was TikTok lagging older phones ? Yesterday was a hell for me with a note 9 where the phone was tripping and I didn’t know what was wrong with it until someone else in another Reddit forum said it was TikTok all along. Did anytime else has this issue or was it only with older phones like mine ?
