For those who understand TikTok, my fiancé and I are commited and had a baby 6 weeks ago, yet I found this on his TikTok, is he lying about not consuming this content?

I trust him and our relationship has been healthy and wonderful, we both discuss how against porn we are on the regular. This makes 0 sense and he keeps insisting he’s never looked at any of that and doesn’t know what it is. I want to believe him, and after some research I found that tiktok can recommend new male accounts this stuff, and his account is just a newer account with a random username account that he almost never uses except to search specific things. But the issue with this conclusion is that two of the recommended searches say “recently viewed”… and his search history was cleared two weeks ago so the recently viewed could be real but he will not stop insisting that he never viewed that. I want to marry this man still but lying and not coming clean has always been a dealbreaker. Do you think he is lying or telling the truth? Could TikTok be wrong with its “recently viewed” or is he lying?

I just had to delete tik tok again, I watch kitty and doggy videos. Grumbus! And then I get cop shootouts, prison shankings, burn victims, what else oh yeah, I like word chewing she does pick on me about the girl who does oddly cute anime faces and then I get some pretty harsh xxx stuff...AND people aggressively harass people minding their business.

She says its cause I clicked on it, but straight up I just want to watch cats doing dumb things and huskies.

So I don't know, tik tok creates mental illness

He may have cleared his search history again recently, but he may have definitely viewed it since then otherwise it would not say "just watched".... he's lying and from the looks of it, trying to be sneakier about his searches

It’s not what he searched don’t worry I think it’s just popular searches on tiktok. If that was his searches there’s would’ve been "Recent search" under

All these apps algorithms are fucked, tik tok, insta and other reel apps have an incentive to push 3 things to men: sex, violence and hate. If they don’t get you with one they try the next. It cycles through them routinely. Even if you click not interested, it’s like the algorithm takes that as engagement, and shunts more shit your way.

I have an art insta, which follows a few artist friends and loads of art accounts. I don’t use reels, and only interactive with artists, but if you scroll my FYP down a few screens there’s guaranteed to be some e-thot in there selling sex, or some horrific dash cam of someone’s brains getting bashed in.

The days of being shown stuff based on your activity are over, it’s no longer reactive but predictive in its recommendations, and often actively profiles based on gender, sexuality, race, creed, etc.

So in conclusion - you unfortunately have no way to know whether he’s actively engaging with this kind of gross content or not.

For what it's worth, my "you may like" suggestions are literally never relevant to anything I actually like. I don't even know what most of them are 90% of the time. My "recently viewed" are things I actually viewed, but they're often not things I went looking for. They're mostly blue searches I clicked from other videos to try to get context for the video. For example, one of mine says "Figs Scrubs women" - I don't even remember clicking this, and I have no interest in Figs Scrubs, lol. Usually the blue search terms on videos are relevant to the video itself, but sometimes they're very random.

That aside...is this really worth getting upset about? This seems like a rather immature concern for someone who is old enough to get married. There's no real porn on tiktok regardless, the terms on your fiancé's suggestions are so mild they wouldn't even constitute softcore tbh.

EDIT: I just looked at my recent views. It says I viewed "Cracker Barrel faces backlash over remodels" 😂 I absolutely did not view that even by accident, I don't know why it's there.

he definitely clicked the just watched videos, but that could just be from looking at a blue comment or something… doesn’t 100% mean he watched the video entirely.

Ima be honest, just check his fyp. I’m assuming that’s off related searches but idk

Just here to put in my 2 cents. It totally makes sense for tik tok to recommend these searches even if he didn’t view these things- especially when it comes to newer male social media accounts. When my partner made his tik tok and instagram account, his FYP was filled with army recruit stuff and basically soft porn.

I also think if he were to view porn, tik tok would be the last place to look.

The fact that all of his search recommendations recommend porn would have had me doubting too though.
